Otto Frederick Warmbier (December 12, 1994 – June 19, 2017) was an American college student who was imprisoned in North Korea in 2016 on a charge of subversion. In June 2017, he was released by North Korea in a vegetative state, and died soon after his parents requested his feeding tube be removed.
At what point did the North Korean population get so brainwashed that this treatment became the status quo? The rest of their days in silence, fear, and hushed whispers of ‘what next?’ Similarly, in our country…What liberties our Founding Fathers fought for will be incrementally degraded, controlled, distorted and twisted to benefit only a certain kind of narrative ? No more freedom of speech. No humor. All seriousness. Orwellian. Studied. Algorithmically predicted, calculated. An individual bubble, pods. Friends turning against friends, former peers treating each other with hatred and bullying. Something has changed, and it’s apparent. Global. All encompassing. A frequency.
